1 Person Killed, 1 Seriously Injured In Off-Road Crash Near Banning

BANNING, CA — An off-road vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon near Banning left one person dead and another with serious injuries, authorities announced.
The rollover wreck was reported at 12:07 p.m. along Indian Creek Truck Trail, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department. The crash area was located roughly a mile west of Highway 243, in the San Bernardino National Forest, the California Highway Patrol reported.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second victim with serious injuries was hoisted from the area via a Riverside County Sheriff's Department helicopter and transported to an awaiting air ambulance, the fire department reported. The CHP said the victim suffered life-threatening injuries.
The decedent's identity will not be released until family is notified.
