2 Dead, 1 Injured In Moreno Valley Crash

Deputies are still investigating the circumstances around the deadly single-vehicle collision.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — Two people were killed and another was seriously injured in a crash reported on Saturday, Aug. 2, Riverside County sheriff's deputies reported.

Just before 6 p.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff's Station were sent to the intersection of Pigeon Pass Drive and Cougar Canyon Drive after receiving reports about a single-vehicle traffic crash, officials said.

The driver and passenger were found with significant injuries. They were both pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, another passenger was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

The identities of the pair who died will not immediately be released pending the notification of their families, the sheriff's department said.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Police say it is unknown whether alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision.
