2 People Killed In Ramona Expressway Crash

SAN JACINTO, CA — A two-vehicle crash Monday morning on the Ramona Expressway in San Jacinto left two people dead, authorities said.

The two deceased were pronounced dead at the scene and one person was sent to a local hospital with moderate injuries, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The California Highway Patrol reported the wreck involved an SUV and pickup truck. A pit bull was among the occupants in one of the vehicles, though the canine survived and was transported for veterinary evaluation.

Westbound lanes were temporarily closed as a result of the fatal collision.

The CHP was investigating the crash cause.
