2 Winning Powerball Tickets Sold In CA; Grand Prize Jackpot Swells To $1.7B
Nobody hit all six numbers for the $1.4 billion jackpot, but two people in SoCal will take home just under $1 million.

RIVERSIDE, CA — Two lucky lottery players in Southern California have won just under $1 million after matching five of six numbers in the Powerball drawing on Wednesday.
The winning tickets were sold at an Albertsons location at 13045 Highway 58 in Bakersfield and at a Stater Bros. location at 7200 Arlington Ave. in Riverside, according to the California Lottery. The winners will take home $984,594.
The winning numbers were 3, 16, 29, 61, and 69. The final Powerball number was 22. Nobody matched all six numbers, leaving $1.7 billion up for grabs. There hasn't been a winner for it since May, when a ticket worth $207 million was sold at a convenience store in Arleta.

The next Powerball drawing is Saturday night. To be considered in that drawing, which takes place at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, tickets must be purchased by 7 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, according to the California Lottery.
The $1.7 billion jackpot is the third-largest in U.S. history. The other two were a $2.04 billion jackpot in 2022 and a $1.765 billion jackpot in 2023.

Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Since its first drawing in 1992, the Powerball game has helped generate more than $36 billion for good causes supported by U.S. lotteries.
Powerball drawings are broadcast live every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee, Florida. Powerball drawings are also live-streamed on Powerball.com.
