2 Young Women Who Shared Last Name Killed In RivCo Crash
Pastel and Bailey Watterson of Redlands died Sunday night following the crash on Hemet's State Street.
HEMET, CA — Pastel and Bailey Watterson did not come home this weekend.
The two young Redlands women — Pastel, 25, and Bailey, 17 — were killed Sunday in a traffic crash in Hemet.
According to details released by the Hemet Police Department, the two victims were in a Kia compact car, pulling out of a driveway at 1536 S. State Street, when a silver Toyota sedan heading north on State hit their vehicle.

Pastel was driving the Kia and died at the scene.
Bailey, along with other passengers in the Kia, was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

According to a Riverside County coroner's report, less than an hour after the crash, Bailey was pronounced dead at Riverside University Health Systems in Moreno Valley. An update on the other Kia passengers was unavailable.
Confirmation on how the two deceased victims were related was pending from authorities. A GoFundMe page was established for their family.
The Toyota driver was also sent to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries and has cooperated with the crash investigation, according to the Hemet Police Department.
Impaired driving is not believed to be a crash factor, the law enforcement agency said.
State Street was closed from Domenigoni Parkway to Chambers Street from approximately 10 p.m. Sunday to 2 a.m. Monday.
