24-Year-Old Probation Officer From Banning Dies At Juvenile Court
The officer was pronounced dead at the scene.

SAN BERNARDINO, CA — A law enforcement officer from Banning died last week at the San Bernardino Juvenile Court, though circumstances surrounding his death remain vague.
Johnathan Coutee, 24, died around 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the court located at 900 E. Gilbert Street.
According to the San Bernardino County coroner, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department deputies and San Bernardino police were dispatched to the address for "an unresponsive male."

The victim, later identified as Coutee, was pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner reported.
No other injuries were immediately reported.

San Bernardino County Sheriff's spokesperson Gloria Huerta said Coutee served as a San Bernardino County Probation Officer.
Officer Oleg Llaurado, spokesperson for the probation department, said Coutee was hired by the agency on May 18, 2024. He declined to provide further details.
It's not clear whether Coutee was on duty at the time of his death.
According to KTLA, a shooting was reported at the court at the time of Coutee's death. Abc7 reported that a county spokesperson called the incident "isolated."
The sheriff's department did not announce any arrests, nor did the agency issue a press release.
