The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.

REDLANDS, CA — The coroner has released the identities of the three people killed last week in a crash that followed an attempted traffic stop in Redlands.

Kenneth Stein, 56, and Loretta Frug Stein, 86, both of Highland, along with 26-year-old Redlands resident Justin Sutton, died at the crash scene reported at the intersection of W. Redlands Boulevard and Tennessee Street, according to the San Bernardino County coroner's office.

The incident unfolded at around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, when deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcyclist — later identified as Sutton — for alleged reckless driving in Redlands.

"The driver of the motorcycle did not yield and fled from the deputies," a sheriff's spokesperson told KTLA. "The motorcycle driver collided [with] a vehicle on Redlands Boulevard near Tennessee Street."

That vehicle was occupied by the Steins. Images published by KTLA show their overturned Toyota Prius.
