45-Year-Old Man Killed In Moreno Valley Shooting

MORENO VALLEY, CA — A man was killed during a shooting in Moreno Valley and authorities Saturday were investigating his death as a homicide, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced.

Deputies responded to the 24000 block of Dracaea Avenue on Friday just before 9 p.m. to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.

Upon arrival, deputies found 45-year-old Ralph Ortega of Moreno Valley suffering from gunshot wounds. Ortega was rushed to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit assumed the investigation, but there was no suspect information immediately available.
