66 People Arrested During RivCo 'Quality Of Life' Operation: Cops

The law enforcement effort was carried out in Moreno Valley.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — A multi-agency "quality of life" operation in Moreno Valley resulted in the arrests of 66 people on suspicion of drug possession and various other offenses, authorities said Saturday.

The operation was carried out Friday by personnel from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department's Moreno Valley Station Special Enforcement Teamm, the Riverside Police Department, Riverside County Probation, the California Department of Corrections, Riverside County Post Release Accountability and Compliance Team, a gang task force and other Riverside County special enforcement teams.

"The mission was to conduct proactive patrol of high criminal activity areas as well as the apprehension of subjects committing criminal offenses," according to a statement from the sheriff's department. "This was a zero-tolerance event."

Among the suspects' alleged offenses were illegal possession of firearm, possession of drugs including heroin, fentanyl and methamphetamine, outstanding misdemeanors and felony warrants.

They were booked at either the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside or the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
