Another Major Badlands Closure Planned For SR-60 Lanes Project
If your travel takes you via the Badlands, be sure to plan ahead and expect delays.

BEAUMONT, CA — As the the 60 Truck Lanes Project continues through the Badlands area between Beaumont and Moreno Valley, officials announced more closures for roadwork. Next week, the westbound side of SR-60 will be completely closed at night. Then, coming up later in the month, both sides of the highway will be affected by a weekend-long closure.
On each night between Sept. 3 and Sept. 6, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., the westbound side of SR-60 will be closed while crews continue to remove the median barrier and place k-rail, according to the Riverside County Transportation Commission.
During the same time period, the eastbound side of the highway will be limited to one lane from 9 p.m. - 6 a.m., the RCTC said.

The, coming up on Sept. 14 and Sept. 15, another major closure is planned. Again, all westbound lanes will be closed between Beaumont and Moreno Valley and only one eastbound lane will be open. That closure is set to begin at 4 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14 and last until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15.

"This weekend closure will allow crews to safely remove large rocks from the hillside without danger to passing motorists," the RCTC said. "Please use alternate routes during this closure."
