Apple Valley Fire Map: See Ranch Fire Perimeter, Evacuation Areas
Strong winds and dry brush are fueling the Apple Valley Fire, forcing people to flee their homes Tuesday.

APPLE VALLEY, CA — A brush fire tore through thousands of acres of dry brush within hours South of Apple Valley Tuesday, forcing residents to flee their homes. By Wednesday, over 4,200 acres had burned, and the fire was 10% contained, according to Cal Fire.
The Ranch Fire broke out around 1:45 p.m. at Bowen Ranch Road and Coxey Truck Trail, south of Apple Valley. Strong winds and dry brush fueled the blaze, according to Cal Fire.
Cal Fire issued mandatory evacuation orders and warnings. Much of the Fizzben Heights neighborhood has been ordered to evacuate.
