'Armed, Dangerous' Corona Man Sought In Riverside County Killing
Jonathan Elijah Amezola of Corona is sought in the Jan. 12 San Jacinto shooting that left one man dead and a boy injured.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — The Riverside County Sheriff's Department is seeking the public's help in finding a Corona man described as "a person of interest" in a fatal shooting.
An "armed and dangerous" Jonathan Elijah Amezola is sought in the Jan. 12 San Jacinto shooting that left one man dead and a boy injured, according to the sheriff's department.
Amezola is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 135 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

The sheriff's department posted Amezola's picture and description on its social media channels, saying only that he had been connected to the deadly attack in an unspecified neighborhood, where patrol deputies were called to investigate a shooting.
When they arrived, they found a man mortally wounded in front of a property. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

That same night, a boy, whose identity wasn't disclosed, walked into a regional trauma center for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound that detectives later learned was a result of being in the line of fire where the man had been gunned down, according to authorities.
A motive for the alleged attack was not disclosed, and background information on Amezola was unavailable.
