Arrest Warrant Issued Following Moreno Valley Killing
Joe Miramontes Jr. was identified "as the sole suspect in the murder," the sheriff's department said.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — An arrest warrant was issued this week for a man authorities say gunned down a man in Moreno Valley.
Joe Miramontes Jr., 31, is wanted in the killing death of 30-year-old Gilbert Ramirez. According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, both men were listed as Moreno Valley residents.

The investigation into the slaying began at about 10:36 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, after deputies were called to a residential community in the 24000 block of Bostwick Drive. Upon arrival, they found Ramirez suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff's department.
Miramontes was identified as the suspect, though he fled the scene before deputies arrived, the sheriff's department reported. The agency did not disclose how investigators connected him to the alleged crime.
