Fire At Banning Complex Contained [VIDEO]
UPDATED: A fire was reported at the notorious "compound" structure on Monday afternoon. Video shows the smoke billowing out.
BANNING, CA — Firefighters responded to a commercial structure fire in Banning on Monday afternoon after smoke was spotted billowing out the west side of the cement building. The blaze was first reported at 3:08 p.m. at the notorious Banning Business Center complex on Lincoln Street.
Details about the fire are limited at this time, but the Riverside County Fire Department says they sent four engines and a medic to the scene. The Morongo Fire Department was also at the scene.

The fire was found to be on the second story of the structure, the fire department said.
The site, locally known as "the compound" where a large homeless encampment was once housed, has caught fire several times over the years.

It's not yet clear how this fire started.
Fire officials say the blaze was contained at 5:45 p.m. and no injuries were reported.
