
BANNING, CA — Four people and two pets were displaced when a fire ripped through part of a Banning home on Monday, the Riverside County Fire Department reports.
The blaze was reported about 6:55 p.m. in the 900 block of Indian School Road, according to the agency.
The first-arriving crews encountered heavy smoke coming from the garage of the single-story home, according to the fire department.

Firefighters contained the fire at 7:22 p.m. and the American Red Cross was summoned to assist the four adults and two dogs who were displaced, officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
