Banning High School Announces Commencement Activities

The Banning High School Class of 2017 Commencement Exercise will be held on ​Thursday, June 1.

From Banning High School: General Admission is free (no cost); however, admittance into the school site and inside the ceremony will be granted by presentation of a ticket at the entrance gate(s). Banning High School does not sell tickets for graduation. Graduating seniors will be provided their disclosed number of allotted tickets upon senior checkout (May 25). Members of the general public wishing to attend must contact ASB Director Joanna Barnheiser to request tickets at jbarnheiser@banning.k12.ca.us or (951) 922-0285.

★ Gates open at 4:30 p.m.

★ Additional parking is available on Banning Unified School District property at Nicolet Middle School. Courtesy round trip district shuttle service will be provided (no charge) from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and from 7:30-8:30 p.m. approximately.

★ If you have a family member using a wheelchair, he or she can be dropped off in the loading/unloading zone in front of the stadium. There are wheelchair accessible ramps and designated areas in the stadium.

★ During the ceremony, please minimize all conversations and respect others by allowing them to intently listen and enjoy the ceremony proceedings. Graduation is a formal and somber right of passage, it's better to replace whooping and hollering with applause.

★ The distribution of faux diplomas is normally a quick and orderly process. Please make certain that when you show pride in your graduate, you aren't drowning out the recognition of another.

★ Life's milestones deserve everyone's full attention. Turn off your cell phones and resist the urge to text until the ceremony is over.

★ Remain in your seat until the last student receives their diploma so that they feel properly acknowledged.

★ To uphold the integrity of the ceremony please keep all small children (ages 1-13) closely monitored and supervised at all times.

★ No coolers or ice chests

★ No inappropriate hand held signs, banners, or propaganda allowed. We wish for the ceremony to be free of unnecessary distractions and to allow all spectators to view the ceremony freely. Signs are subject to confiscation.

★ No noise makers (air horns, poppers, etc.) We wish to uphold the integrity of the ceremony and give due credit to each individual graduate as their name is announced. We wish for the ceremony to be free of unnecessary distractions. Noise makers are subject to confiscation.

★ No beach balls

★ Please maintain the concourses and area along the interior fence line of the stadium clear.

Guests Wearing Hats

  • Male and female guests should remove their hats for the national anthem and school song.
  • Women wearing wide-brim hats should remove them once seated so they don't block the view of others.
