Banning To Host 'Cowboy Christmas' Event: Tree Lighting, Parade & More

Residents are invited Dec. 7 to celebrate with a parade, tree lighting, gift giveaway, Santa's arrival by helicopter and a light exchange.

BANNING, CA — Banning residents are invited to the city's annual Cowboy Christmas Holiday & Tree Lighting this Saturday, Dec. 7, which promises and evening of holiday cheer and family-friendly activities.

The event will feature a variety of attractions, from a helicopter arrival from Santa Claus to a parade through town. Ahead of the tree-lighting ceremony, guests will be able to explore local vendors, take photos and watch the parade step-off.

During the lighting of the tree, carolers will sing and more fun is planned for the rest of the evening.

In addition, customers Banning Electric Utility will be able to exchange old lights and get new LED energy-efficient lights at the event. Exchanges are limited to two strands of lights per household.

Schedule of Events

  • 4 p.m. – Vendors & Santa photos open
  • 5:30 p.m. – Parade step-off
  • 7 p.m. – Tree lighting and carolers
  • 7:15 p.m. – Santa arrives by helicopter
  • 7:30–8:30 p.m. – Gift giveaway
  • 9 p.m. – Event concludes

The parade route begins at San Gorgonio Ave/Nicolet heading South and will move through Ramsey and Ramsey to 12th Street. Restrooms will be available at Banning Chamber of Commerce and inside Banning City Hall.
