Banning I-10 Pileup: All Motorists Escape Serious Injury

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department crews reached the location and found all of the parties out of their vehicles, unharmed.

BANNING, CA — A three-vehicle collision on Interstate 10 in Banning Thursday snarled traffic, but the parties involved escaped uninjured.

The crash was reported at 4:40 p.m. on westbound I-10 just east of Eighth Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The agency said that a crossover SUV and two other vehicles impacted in the fast lane, but no other details were available.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department crews reached the location 20 minutes later and found all of the parties out of their vehicles, unharmed.

The SUV sustained significant damage and had to be towed away from the location, according to the CHP.

As of 5:20 p.m., officers were working to clear the wreckage and reopen the lane amid heavy traffic.

The cause of the collision was under investigation.
