Banning Police Receive Nearly $30K To Fulfill Lifesaving Need

The funding from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation will be used to purchase 16 automated external defibrillators (AEDs).

BANNING, CA — The Banning Police Department is receiving nearly $30,000 in grant funding and the money is being used to purchase 16 automated external defibrillators (AEDs), it was announced Thursday.

The $29,896 grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is fulfilling a critical need within the law enforcement agency.

“On behalf of the department and its members, I want to thank the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and our local Firehouse Subs in Beaumont for recognizing our needs and awarding funding to provide this equipment,” said Banning Lt. Brandon Smith. “Providing first responders with the right tools is crucial for them to successfully do their jobs.”

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation provides lifesaving equipment, prevention education, scholarships and continued education, and disaster relief for first responders and public safety organizations, as well as support for military veterans, according to the nonprofit.
