Banning Man Suspected In Lewd Acts On Child Freed On $100K Bond

Banning detectives initiated an investigation, and sought "additional evidence and witness statements ... to support the potential charges."

BANNING, CA — A 49-year-old Banning man suspected of repeatedly molesting a young family member was out of custody Tuesday on a $100,000 bond.

Bradley Neil Seymour was arrested and booked into the Smith Correctional Facility last week on suspicion of forced sexual penetration of a child, lewd acts on a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Seymour posted bail and was released from the Banning jail on Feb. 26. He was not charged as of this report, and has no history of arrests in Riverside County, according to court records.

According to the Banning Police Department, officers were informed on Feb. 23 that the suspect had allegedly sexually assaulted the 15-year-old victim, whose identity was not disclosed.

The girl was described by police as a relative and member of Seymour's household.

"The juvenile was contacted and interviewed," according to a police statement. "Per the victim, Seymour began abusing (her) at the age of 7 years old and continued the abuse through recent years."

The circumstances behind the alleged acts were not provided.

Detectives initiated an investigation, culminating in the procurement of "additional evidence and witness statements ... to support the charges," the agency stated.

Seymour was taken into custody without incident on East Ramsey Street three days later.
