Banning Unified Unveils Preschool And TK Campus Expansion
The Florida Street Discovery Center has been built with state-of-the-art classrooms designed to help special needs students.
BANNING, CA — This week, Banning Unified School District celebrated the completed construction of the district's preschool and TK campus called the Florida Street Discovery Center.
The district celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with parents, students and staff on Monday. Renovations include four new upgraded TK classrooms and two new preschool classrooms that are geared toward supporting students with special needs.
"This project is a testament to our commitment to providing every student with an inclusive, state-of-the-art learning environment. The new classrooms and upgraded facilities will not only accommodate our growing student population but will also foster a more enriching and supportive educational experience, particularly for our youngest learners and students with special needs," Terrence Davis, superintendent of BUSD said.

The 25,000-square-foot facility, which was built in partnership with Erickson-Hall Construction Co. connects to the original campus at 671 N Florida St. with a protected walk way, adapted for safety and accessability.
The school kitchen, cafeteria and administrative space also received upgrades, the district said.

“This project will ensure that the Florida Street Discovery Center can meet the current and long-term needs of students, expanding the program’s capacity to serve the community,” said Erickson-Hall President Mat Gates.
