Beaumont City Leaders, Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem Selected At December City Council Meeting

BEAUMONT, CA — The Beaumont City Council unanimously selected Jessica Voigt as Mayor and Lloyd White as Mayor Pro Tem. Both appointments are for a one-year term beginning immediately. Additionally, the Council appointed Kari Mendoza as Interim Deputy City Manager at a special meeting on Tuesday, according to a recent news release.

"The Council’s decision reflects a shared commitment to continuity, collaboration, and strong leadership as the city moves into the year ahead.

"Mayor Voigt, Mayor Pro Tem White, and Interim Deputy City Manager Mendoza bring dedication, experience, and a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the Beaumont community. Mayor Voigt expressed gratitude for the Council’s confidence and shared her enthusiasm for leading the city in this next chapter. She will continue to work closely with residents, businesses, and staff to advance Beaumont’s goals and objectives. Mayor Pro Tem White likewise conveyed appreciation for the opportunity to serve in this role and affirmed his commitment to supporting effective governance and community-focused decision-making," the release said.

Outgoing Mayor Mike Lara spoke on the selection.

“This selection signals the Council’s focus on teamwork and continuing its forward momentum,” Lara said. “With this leadership in place, Beaumont continues to be well-positioned to continue building on recent progress while addressing the needs of a growing and vibrant community.”

According to the release, the Council and staff expressed sincere appreciation for outgoing Mayor Mike Lara for his leadership and dedicated service to the Beaumont community.

"His commitment and contributions over the past year and in previous years as a councilmember have helped guide the city through a period of progress and transition," they said. "The Council thanks him for his continued service to the community."
