Beaumont Fire Held At 20 Acres [PHOTOS]
UPDATED: More than 160 firefighters help douse the fire.
BEAUMONT, CA — Dozens of firefighters helped contain a brush fire in the Beaumont area Monday, Riverside County Fire Department officials tell Patch. The fire was first reported at 9:22 a.m. off David Mountain Road, south of Interstate 10 and west of Lambs Canyon.
A total of 164 firefighters from 17 engines, three bulldozers, a helicopter and two air tankers were assigned to the so-called Radio Fire, due to its proximity to radio towers.
The first-arriving crews reported the fire was initially spreading at a "moderate rate," but the forward progress of spread was stopped by 10:30 a.m., according to the fire department.

The Radio Fire was declared contained at 3:30 p.m., but firefighters were expected to remain at the scene until around 6 p.m. for mop up efforts.
The final size of the blaze is estimated at 20 acres.

No structures burned and no injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.
