Beaumont School Bussing Program Explained For 2025-26 School Year
With a specialized app, Beaumont USD families can have peace of mind, as they can track their child's bus ride to and from school.

BEAUMONT, CA — The Beaumont Unified School District's Transportation Department wants all parents to make use of the school bus system, for safety and peace of mind.
As the summer lull hits, the district hopes parents new to the district, or those who have never used the transportation system before, will download the My Ride K12 app, setting up an account for their family.
"For many young parents, this year will be the first time their child will use the school bus," says district spokesperson Thomas Guzowski. "Understandably, this new experience may come with a lot of anxiety, from thoughts about missing the bus to wondering when the bus will arrive?"

In a recent news release, The Beaumont Unified School District’s Transportation Department shared how they hope to ease some of the worry by giving parents a "birds-eye-view" of their child’s school bus through the My Ride K-12 app.
My Ride K-12 is a free app for parents to download onto their Apple or Android device . Once the app is downloaded and registered to the student using a student ID number, the app provides real-time push notifications for bus arrival times, delays, and alerts. The app also allows parents to track the bus location in real-time."

To ensure that only parents with a legitimate reason to know the bus's location are allowed, children will tap their student ID on a card reader when they step onto the bus, Transportation Supervisor Cassandra Clausman said.
“This tells the driver they have a student on the bus. When the student gets home, they tap their card to signify they arrived. Our transportation team has been using the My Ride K-12 app for years now with amazing results. A lot of parents love following their student’s bus to school."
While dedicated Beaumont school busing is restricted to TK-5 grade students outside of a
1-mile radius from their designated school and students with disabilities, the City of Beaumont
Transit recently announced they will be offering anyone 18 and under free bus passes on all
routes from now to June 30, 2026 thanks to funding through the Low Carbon Transit Operations
Program.
