BEAUMONT, CA — The Beaumont Unified School District held two ribbon-cutting ceremonies only seven days apart in late September. The newly completed construction projects include modern classroom facilities, administrative offices, and even space for employee training, according to a recent news release.

Glen View High School
While the Glen View High School expansion project officially opened to students and teachers on August 7, 2025, its ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on September 22, according to Beaumont USD information officer Thomas Guzowski.

High school students led public tours of the facilities, revealing 5,000 square feet of new, fully-furnished classrooms, new student restroom facilities, perimeter fencing, a shaded courtyard, and arid landscaping.

“This moment represents more than just a new facility—it represents opportunity, growth, and our commitment to providing the very best for our students, staff, and community,” said Beaumont USD Board of Trustees President Melissa Williamson to attendees present at the event.

Funding for the $8 million budgeted project was made possible by the voter-approved Measure Z bond, which passed in 2008. The funding source is set to be exhausted by the end of this year.

Riverside County Office of Education Superintendent Dr. Edwin Gomez presented a signed certificate of recognition to the school at the event with the written statement, “This project demonstrates a strong commitment to providing Beaumont students with engaging and hands-on educational opportunities.”

The $6.9 million budgeted project includes two furnished staff office buildings, two training buildings, one multi-purpose building, and a restroom facility.

A significant portion of the new workspaces will be used by the Expanded Learning department, which provides “before and after” school programs, among other highly sought-after educational opportunities.

Additionally, the City of Beaumont Mayor Mike Lara presented a certificate of recognition to the District.

It read, “On behalf of the City of Council, we share the excitement of the expansion of your facility and recognize your commitment to the growing community. This expansion represents the expansion of opportunity, innovation and success."

A Future of Growth
Both expansion projects are a response to the increased population size, as student enrollment and staffing in the District have grown significantly. Since 2010, Beaumont’s population has grown by nearly 44% according to the 2020 U.S. Census Bureau.
