Big Rig, Sedan Crash On 60 Freeway In Beaumont Leaves 1 Injured

BEAUMONT, CA — A motorist was injured Friday in a collision between a tractor-trailer and sedan on the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway in Beaumont that caused the smaller vehicle to roll on the freeway, blocking one lane.

The crash occurred about 5:15 p.m. on the westbound Moreno Valley Freeway at Jack Rabbit Trail, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The big rig and Honda Civic impacted in the fast lane of the three-lane westbound side of the corridor, the CHP reported.

The Honda overturned, coming to rest near the inside shoulder. No other details were available.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the location a short time later and found the Honda driver, who was the sole occupant and not identified, out of the car, suffering from unspecified moderate injuries, according to reports from the scene.

The victim was taken to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment.

The trucker wasn't injured.

The No. 1 westbound lane was shut down by the CHP until 5:50 p.m., when all vehicles cleared the location.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
