Bones Found Off San Timoteo Canyon Road: Sheriff's Dept. Issues Update
The investigation into the skeletal remains took a turn this week.
LOMA LINDA, CA — More than one week after the San Bernadino County Sheriff's Department reported that human skeletal remains were discovered on a property in the 11400 block of San Timoteo Canyon Road, the investigation has taken a very different course.
On Wednesday, the law enforcement agency announced the remains were not human.
"Upon further examination by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office, the skeletal remains were determined to not be human," the department said.

Forensic work was underway after the remains were discovered around 11:29 a.m. May 12 on a property in the 11400 block of San Timoteo Canyon Road of Loma Linda.
The bones were determined to be human, the sheriff's department said last week.

It's not clear how or where exactly the remains were found. The area is dotted with some businesses and homes.
No arrests were announced.
"The recovered remains, which include various bones, will undergo examination and autopsy to determine the identity of the deceased as well as the cause of death," the sheriff's department reported last week. "Additional information on this case will be released as it becomes available."
