Brothers Shot Dead Nearly 10 Years Ago In Riverside County, Arrest Finally Made
Richard Anthony Ferris, now 50, is accused in the slayings of 24-year-old Louie Granado and his brother, 34-year-old Glenn Granado.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — A double murder that occurred nearly 10 years ago in Moreno Valley has finally led to an arrest, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced Tuesday.
On August 1, Moreno Valley resident Richard Anthony Ferris, 50, was arrested without incident in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Boyle Heights.
He was later booked into Riverside's Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of murdering 24-year-old Louie Granado and his brother, 34-year-old Glenn Granado.

An investigation into the killings dates back to approximately 2 a.m. on January 29, 2006, when Riverside County sheriff's deputies were called about a shooting in the area of Pepper Court and John F. Kennedy Drive in Moreno Valley.
Once at the scene, deputies discovered two men inside a vehicle. Both had gunshot wounds, and both were dead.

The victims were later identified as the Granado brothers, residents of Moreno Valley.
Investigators from the Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit assumed the case, and Ferris was initially identified as a suspect.
"Unfortunately, there was insufficient evidence to charge Ferris at the time of the investigation, and the case went cold," the sheriff's department explained in its Tuesday announcement.
Fast forward to April 2025, when the sheriff's Cold Case Unit reviewed the case and found additional information to follow up on.
The case was reopened, though details about evidence allegedly linking Ferris to the slayings were not released, and it's unclear what his relationship, if any, was with the victims.
A possible motive for the killings was not disclosed.
