Brush Fire Along 10 Freeway In Whitewater Causes Traffic Delays

WHITEWATER, CA — A brush fire that broke out Wednesday along Interstate 10 in Whitewater has caused commuter headaches.

The freeway was partially closed due to the 5-acre blaze reported at 1:11 p.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department reported two eastbound freeway lanes were closed.

As of 3 p.m., the California Highway Patrol was reporting lanes on the westbound side were closed.

According to SigAlert.com, traffic was backed up on the westbound side.
