Brush Fire Scorches Five Acres In Banning
Firefighters stopped forward progress of the blaze around 3 a.m. Saturday.
BANNING, CA — A brush fire charred five acres in Banning this morning before firefighters stopped progress of the flames.
Crews responded to the intersection of Bluff Street and Mias Canyon Road at 12:10 a.m. and discovered the fire had already burned two acres of brush and was burning at a moderate rate of spread, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
At 2:55 a.m., the department said progress of the fire had been stopped and crews would remain on scene overnight monitoring for hot spots.
