Cooler Temperatures And Elevated Fire Danger Expected This Week

A heat advisory for Riverside County valleys and mountains was set to expire at 9 p.m. Sunday.

RIVERSIDE, CA — The mercury is expected to drop from the weekend's above-average temperatures early this week when an onshore flow brings cooler weather to the region, according to the National Weather Service.

A heat advisory for Riverside County valleys and mountains was set to expire at 9 p.m. Sunday, and by mid-week temperatures are expected to dip a few degrees below average, especially west of the mountains, forecasters said.

The NWS warned that the week ahead will likely see dry and gusty conditions, elevating the fire danger.
