Coroner IDs Scooter Rider Killed In San Jacinto Traffic Crash
The 35-year-old scooter rider was traveling in lanes when the driver of a Chevrolet Suburban hit him.
SAN JACINTO, CA — A 35-year-old man riding a scooter was struck and killed on a San Jacinto street in a collision with an SUV, authorities said Monday.
Arthur St. Clair of Norco was fatally injured about 10:20 p.m. Sunday on South San Jacinto Avenue, near Midway Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
The agency said that St. Clair was going northbound on San Jacinto, traveling in lanes, when the driver of a Chevrolet Suburban impacted his scooter.

The Chevy driver did not attempt to flee.
Patrol deputies and paramedics reached the location within 10 minutes, attempting life-saving measures. However, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

"The driver of the ... Suburban immediately came forward and identified herself as an involved party in the traffic collision," the sheriff's department said.
The woman, whose identity was not released, was questioned but not arrested.
It was not immediately known whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
