Covid Hospitalizations Tick Up In Riverside County
COVID hospitalizations countywide were at 282 Friday, up from 274 on Thursday, officials said.
RIVERSIDE, CA — The overall number of people hospitalized with coronavirus in Riverside County and the number of intensive care patients has edged upward, with six additional virus-related deaths reported.
According to the Riverside University Health System, COVID hospitalizations countywide were at 282 Friday, up from 274 on Thursday, and that includes 67 ICU patients, up seven from a day earlier.
Officials said the aggregate number of COVID cases recorded since the public health documentation period began in March 2020 is 382,002, compared to 381,461 on Thursday.

A total 5,502 deaths from virus-related complications have been recorded in the past 20 months. The fatalities are trailing indicators because of delays processing death certificates and can go back weeks, according to health officials.
The number of known active virus cases countywide is 4,251, down 67 from a day ago. The active count is derived by subtracting deaths and recoveries from the current total -- 382,002 -- according to the county Executive Office. Verified patient recoveries countywide are 372,249.
