Deputies Seize $1M In Marijuana Plants From RivCo Home

Officers say they took over 2,000 marijuana plants worth over $1 million from an Eastvale home and estimate $145,000 in utility theft.

EASTVALE, CA — Deputies seized more than 2,000 marijuana plants with an estimated street value exceeding $1 million while serving a search warrant Wednesday afternoon at a home in Eastvale, authorities said.

On Jan. 7 at about 4:17 p.m., deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station, along with the Eastvale Special Enforcement Team, served a warrant in the 6700 block of Leanne Street as part of an illegal marijuana cultivation investigation, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

During the search, deputies determined the residence had been converted to support an illegal indoor marijuana operation. Investigators also estimated losses tied to utility theft at approximately $145,000.

The Eastvale Code Enforcement Team and representatives from Southern California Edison responded to the scene. Code enforcement officials conducted a separate investigation and identified multiple building code violations associated with the property.

Authorities said the Eastvale Special Enforcement Team is working to identify the suspect or suspects involved.
