Details Released In Cabazon I-10 Death Of 80-Year-Old Yucaipa Man

CABAZON, CA — A fatal crash involving an 80-year-old man driving on Interstate 10 through Cabazon was under investigation Tuesday.

Pedro Valle of Yucaipa was killed shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday on westbound Interstate 10, just east of Morongo Trail, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Valle was driving a Toyota Camry when he apparently lost control just east of the Morongo Trail exit, the CHP reported.

Valle was traveling at an unknown speed and "veered off the roadway," Officer Jonathan Torres told City News Service.

"The Camry collided with a tree," Torres said.

No other vehicles were involved.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the location roughly 20 minutes later and pronounced Valle dead at the scene.

"At this time, it is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were factors," Torres said.
