BEAUMONT, CA — Beaumont residents interested in a seat on the city's Planning Commission have just a few days left to submit their applications.

Beaumont City Council is seeking to fill one vacancy on the commission. While commissioners are typically appointed by the council to four-year terms, the existing vacancy is partial, running through Dec. 31, 2024.

In order to be considered for the open seat, a completed application must be received by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31. City Council will conduct a review of applicants at its regularly scheduled 6 p.m. meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

Applications are available online and in person at the Civic Center, 550 E. Sixth Street.

The Beaumont Planning Commission meets the second Wednesday of each month. Commissioner responsibilities include making recommendations to City Council regarding development projects in the city, including general plan amendments, zone changes, zone variances, specific plans, tentative parcel maps and tentative tract maps.
