Driver Killed After Slamming Into Firetruck On 10 Freeway

The firetruck was responding to a previous crash on the freeway when another car crashed into the back of it.

CLAREMONT, CA — A fatal crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 10 in Claremont involved a vehicle smashing into a fire truck, according to media reports.

The crash was reported just after 4:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway at Mills Avenue.

The firetruck was responding to a previous crash on the freeway when another car crashed into the back of it. The driver of that second vehicle died at the scene, according to abc7.

The victim's identity was not released pending notification of next of kin.

The right two lanes of the freeway were closed for several hours, but reopened by 8 a.m., according to media reports.
