Driver Killed In Riverside Crash Identified

RIVERSIDE, CA — Authorities Sunday publicly identified a man killed when his car struck a tree head-on in Riverside.

Roberto Moreno, 32, of Riverside was the lone occupant of the vehicle when it crashed at 4:15 p.m. Saturday on eastbound Victoria Avenue near Grace Street.

Despite first responders' attempts to save him, Moreno was pronounced dead at the scene about 25 minutes later.

Victoria was closed at Jefferson for several hours while investigators worked the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
