Driver Suspected Of Intentionally Running Down Man In Redlands

Harman Singh, 21, gunned his Toyota Camry and hit the man twice, police said. Singh was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

REDLANDS, CA — A Redlands driver who purposely aimed his car at a man — and hit him — was arrested on suspicion of murder, police announced Wednesday morning.

Harman Singh, 21, was taken into custody after Redlands police were called around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday to a parking lot in the 1100 block of Alabama Street. There they found a 20-year-old man on the ground and two vehicles with collision damage, according to the Redlands Police Department.

The victim and witnesses told police that Singh intentionally used his 2017 Toyota Camry as a weapon, hitting the man as he tried to escape. Singh accelarted toward the man a second time, striking him again and pinning him against another vehicle, police reported.

The victim suffered broken bones and a head abrasion, and was transported to a hospital for treatment, according to police.

Singh was arrested at the scene and is being held at Central Detention Center in San Bernardino in lieu of $1 million bail.

A motive for the alleged violence was not disclosed.
