Earthquake Reported Near Banning, Beaumont
The earthquake rolled through the Pass Area, the U.S.G.S. reports.

CABAZON, CA — The Pass Area was hit by a small earthquake late on Tuesday night, but no damage was reported Wednesday morning. The temblor had a preliminary magnitude of 3.4, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake hit around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, according to the U.S.G.S. Automatic quake reports indicated it was centered approximately:
- 6.8 mi NNE of Cabazon
- 9.3 mi NE of Banning
- 9.9 mi WSW of Morongo Valley
- 14.3 mi WNW of Garnet
- 18 mi NW of Palm Springs
The quake was located at a depth of about 10 miles, the agency reported.
