2nd Quake Shakes Inland Empire Friday Afternoon: Did You Feel It?

The earthquake was reported shortly after 6 p.m., and USGS wants to know if you felt it!

BANNING, CA— A magnitude 3.1 quake struck in the Banning area just after 6 p.m. Friday afternoon, it followed a magnitude 3.0 that struck earlier in the day, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The second quake struck at 6:02 p.m. about two miles west of Banning at a depth of nearly 9 miles.

The first earthquake struck with an epicenter near Banning, at 12:15 p.m.

The quakes rattled nearby residents in Banning, Beaumont and Cabazon, according to initial reports. USGS has asked all who felt it to chime in on its Did You Feel It report.

No injuries were reported as a result of the quakes.
