Edison Reports Outages on Both Sides of the Pass

Several thousand homes and businesses were without electricity Thursday morning in Moreno Valley, and outages were also reported in Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs, according to Southern California Edison.

In Moreno Valley, an estimated 6,596 customers were without power as of 9:18 a.m. Thursday, according to the utility. Cal Fire dispatchers received multiple reports of widespread outages near John F Kennedy Drive and Indian Street before 7:40 a.m., Melody Hendrickson of Cal Fire-Riverside County said in a statement.

In Rancho Mirage, an estimated 319 Edison customers were without power as of 9:25 a.m. Nov. 21, according to the utility, which stated the outage began shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday.

In Palm Springs, an estimated 60 customers were without power due to an outage that began at 8:39 a.m., according to Edison.

In Twentynine Palms, 33 customers were without power due to an outage that began at 8:05 a.m., according to Edison.

Outages east of the Pass were due to unspecified to equipment damage and crews were in the process of completing repairs, Edison officials said.

It was not immediately clear if any of the outages were weather-related.
