Fire Burns Through Roof Of Riverside County Home, One Displaced
The Red Cross is aiding a resident forced from their central Riverside County home after a fire broke through the attic.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — Cal Fire /Riverside County Fire Department firefighters rushed to the scene of a house fire Tuesday morning in Moreno Valley, that agency reported.
Shortly before 9:15 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 24000 block of Dimitra Drive, where 911 callers told dispatchers that smoke was pouring from the roof.
Upon arrival at the two-story, single-family home, firefighters saw flames amid the heavy black smoke.

"Flames had broken through the roof," a Cal Fire spokesperson told Patch.

Firefighters battled the blaze from both the ground and the roof, and gained the upper hand after about an hour. When the fire was contained, resources remained on the scene for approximately two hours.

The resident, an adult woman, was not injured and was able to flee the scene. She was displaced from her home and was assisted by the Red Cross, they said.
The cause of the house fire remains under investigation, and no injuries were reported in this incident.
