Fire Crews Battle Waste Truck Fire In Jurupa Valley

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — The Riverside County Fire Department is battling a waste truck fire in Jurupa Valley Saturday.
The truck caught fire around 8:55 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Wineville Avenue and Park Center Drive. The driver released the truck's waste load to prevent flames from spreading into the cab and engine compartment.
Riverside County Environmental Health and the RVC Fire Hazardous Materials team were requested at the scene.

Fire crews predicted remaining on scene for about two hours.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire was not immediately known.
