Firefighters Battle Brush Fire Burning South Of Banning

BANNING, CA — Riverside County Fire Department firefighters were battling a brush fire Sunday that had grown to at least 100 acres south of Banning.

The fire was reported just after 3 p.m. Sunday in the area of Old Idyllwild Road and Sherlion Drive, where fire crews reported the fire burning at a moderate rate of spread, according to the fire department.

No evacuation orders were issued and no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
