Firefighters Battle Cabazon Brush Fire

CABAZON, CA — Firefighters from the Riverside County Fire Department were battling a brush fire in Cabazon Sunday.

The four-acre fire was reported around 3:10 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Pipeline Road and Apache Trail, where firefighters found the vegetation burning in light, flashy fuels.

The forward rate of spread was stopped by 3:55 p.m., according to the fire department.

The fire was contained at 6:36 p.m. and the size was updated to 6 1/2 acres.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
