Free Admission at Joshua Tree National Park Saturday thru Monday

Joshua Tree National Park will offer all visitors free admission Saturday through Monday in observance of Veterans Day.

Joshua Tree and the other national parks will waive entrance fees this weekend, although camping fees and Keys Ranch tours at Joshua Tree will still be charged, according to park officials.

Joshua Tree has remains of World War II-era observation posts, and the area hosted U.S. Army training camps commanded by Gen. George Patton, according to park officials.

Ranger programs will also be offered over the weekend.

Work continues in the Cottonwood Oasis area - including Cottonwood Springs Trail, Mastodon Trail and Lost Palms Oasis - which were closed after being damaged in a storm in September.
