Free Car Seat Safety Inspection, Installation Event In Beaumont
Officers from the Pass Area CHP office will be out helping ensure your child safety seats are up to par.
BEAUMONT, CA — California Highway Patrol officers from the San Gorgonio Pass CHP office will be out out the Beaumont Kohl's store this weekend promoting child safety. The CHP's free car seat safety event is planned for Saturday, Sept. 14, and will last three hours.
"Recent national statistics show that an alarming 80% of children in vehicles are unrestrained or buckled up incorrectly," CHP Officer Darren Meyer said in a news release promoting the event. "California law requires a child restraint (child safety seat or booster seat) to be utilized by children until they are at least 8 years old or4’9” tall."
Meyer said the CHP partnered with Kohl's to promote the important message of buckling your child up properly.
