Gang Activity Targeted During Raids In Banning, Beaumont: 3 Arrested

The March 15 law enforcement raids led to the seizure of illegal weapons, ammunition and narcotics, according to the sheriff's department.

SAN GORGONIO PASS AREA, CA — Illegal firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and drugs were found during targeted law enforcement raids in Banning and Beaumont that resulted in three arrests, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced late Wednesday night.

Beaumont residents Benjamin Aaron Silvey, 20, Chase Connor Gilmore, 20, and Ricardo Santiago Ibarra, 36, were taken into custody Friday morning during the operation, according to the sheriff's department.

Jail records show all three men were arrested on Croton Street in Beaumont but were released on bail the following day.

During the raids, the sheriff's department said the following items were seized:

  • nine firearms
  • Approximately 6 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms
  • Over 500 psilocybin candy bars
  • Over 1,000 THC cartridges
  • Over 500 rounds of ammunition
  • A ballistic vest
  • Approximately 2 ½ pints of promethazine with Codeine
  • Approximately 75 pounds of fireworks
  • Approximately $35,000 in cash
  • 1 XL Riverside County jail jumpsuit top

The county's Region 2 Gang Task Force officers conducted the raids. The task force is a collaborative effort of several law enforcement agencies "with the goal of combating criminal street gangs," according to the sheriff's department.
