House Fire Damages Neighboring Residence In Moreno Valley

A home caught fire on Eleanor Lane was billowing black smoke Friday.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — A fire broke out in the back of a Moreno Valley home Friday and caused minor damage to an adjacent home, but firefighters were able to quickly contain it.

Fire crews responded at 12:29 p.m. Friday to a report of a residential structure fire in the 15300 block of Eleanor Lane, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire in the rear of a single-story, single-family dwelling, fire officials said. A home adjacent to it sustained minor damage.

By 12:48 p.m., the fire was contained and firefighters were expected to remain on the scene to continue containment and mop-up for an hour and a half.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
